Not a happy camper (post for miriam_neiman)

He hadn't wanted to leave the caern, he'd argued with Vladek for hours that all it accomplished was to show them he would rather run away then stand his ground and defend his actions.  Of course the Metis disagreed, it was all about the rules to him, about following what was right and proper, and as he had repeatedly told Juraj, it was his failure to learn and follow those rules that had landed them in the mess they were in.  As if they didn't have enough problems already, both in the caern and with those outside of it.  So he'd left, in the middle of the night, like a thief , or a coward, before anyone but his mentor, his only friend, knowing he was gone.  Vladek had made him promise he'd make no calls in, when the time came that it was safe to come back, he would know.  Juraj still wasn't sure how he was supposed to know if they weren't talking to each other, but, again the Metis said when it was time, the message would find him, and he should just trust him.  How could he not, the man  had given up his own life to protect him how many times, taken beatings for his actions, and finally walked away from his own life to remain at his side when  he couldn't take anymore of the Lord's indoctrination.  If he couldn't trust Vladek, a man who would die for him, he couldn't trust anyone.

He'd left on foot, and walked most of the day, by nightfall all he wanted was food and sleep, the scavenging came easy when the little money he had ran out, unfortunately, his anger began to grow as well.  What right did anyone have to dictate what he did with his life, to control who he was, who he saw, who he fucked?  He was an adult, his life was his own, or it should have been, now, if only someone would tell that to the Lords, or those running the caern.

He needed not to think about anything for a while, he needed to score, get drunk, both, he could do that, money wasn't that hard to come by if you worked things right, and he'd survived by the skills before.  So what if he'd swore never to fall back into those habits, he needed to escape, it'd just be this once...just once.

Once it was done it was nothing to get what he needed and find a place to hide out, so what if it was just an abandoned building, that reeked of garbage and the countless others who'd been there before, it was basically dry, and it gave him a place to get high without too much worry about anyone interfering, that's all he needed.

Going on an adventure for ezra_el

She’s not sure when exactly it happened, but at some point during the evening, someone had slipped an envelope under her door. Eventually noticing it, she’d peek out into the hallway. She no one was there, she would snatch it up, mildly surprised to find it wasn’t the typical paper, but a heavier stuff, maybe parchment? She makes no hesitation in ripping it open. Inside there was a key, which she spilled into her palm, and a note, also written on the heavier material. She looks over the note, brow furrowing as she attempted to decipher it. The key is for the moment forgotten. She shuffles back to her bed, still staring in befuddlement at the paper in her hands. Her first instinct was to think that this was some sort of joke. Whatever was written was in no language that she had ever come across. She reads through the note several times, lips moving silently as she tried to make sense of what was written there. Slowly, the letters began swim into focus, rearranging themselves in a way that was starting to make sense to her. A little while later she would be able to make out what it said completely.
"Dear Miss Ivey: I'm so very sorry to be contacting you like this. But I can't be there to warn you in person. Please take this note and keep it with you. This is very important because I'm afraid your life is about to get very chaotic.
"There are people after you. Dangerous people. They want you for the talent that allows you to read this letter. They are very ruthless, and they will hurt you badly to get what they want. My advice to you is to pack up your things, go to Grand Central Station, open the locker that goes to this key, and check this note again. Do this quickly and they will not catch you.
"Do not be afraid! Be brave, think hard and move fast. You are not going to die today. I will help you as much as I can against those pursuing you. --Ezra"

What in the hell did that mean? Why would somebody be after her? And how did this Ezra person know about her? These and a million other questions raced through her mind. For now, she tosses the note and key on the little nightstand beside the bed and tries to watch a little TV. It goes well enough for a little while, but she keeps glancing at the note. Unable to help herself, she picks it up and reads through it once more. Go to Grand Central Station... Well, she didn’t exactly have anything better to do. No, it was probably a bad idea. Then again, “probably” was no guarantee... That settles it; she had to go. She quickly stuffs what few things had actually made it out of her backpack back in, folding up the note and slipping it into her back pocket. It doesn’t take her long to check out, and then she’s heading to the train station. Tracking down the correct locker, she opens it to find a phone which he shoves into her pocket without much interest, and more money than she’s ever seen in real life. This quickly disappears into her backpack after a quick glance around to make sure no one was watching. She pulls out the note and scribbles a reply in the same language with a pen she found in the bottom of her bag.
At Grand Central, found the locker. What do I do now?

The OOC Thread, including NPC Information

Please post any OOC discussions, extra goodies about your character, line requests, humor, silly noises and other OOC stuff here. If the community grows large enough I will add an OOC comm, but for now, let's keep everything in one place.

Resources that can be found here include descriptions of various NPCs as they come up in game, and information and commentary on events thus far. Please check back to this thread regularly for any general announcements. I will message you in the event of any serious game changes.

The Rules, and How to Apply

Here are the rules. They are fairly straightforward.

1. You must apply and be accepted BEFORE you start playing.

2. No flaming, no wank, no idiotic wars springing up between players because of pretendy-fun-times.

3. The mod has the final say in cases of otherwise unresolvable conflict.

4. Follow the basic rules of good roleplay: don't godmode, don't try to kill/maim/render all or partly unplayable someone's character without their express permission, and play well with others. Take complaints to me if you can't resolve any issues privately. Don't plagiarize or steal. Generally: don't be a douche.

5. OCs are welcome, including ones from other fandoms. What is not OK are Mary Sues and overpowered characters--even if they are canon. Examples of canon overpowered characters would include, oh...Sylar, Peter Petrelli, Phoenix, Superman...anyone with totally game-bending levels of power. If you can find a way to make one of these guys less breaky, I will consider them along with everyone else.

6. If I EVER catch you stalking/harassing another character (or me), you will not only be out--you will be out with your ass on fire.

7. Players are encouraged to plot amongst themselves or with me. I am happy to fill desired storylines or help you find people who will (within reason, of course). I will also have a main storyline and several monster-of-the-week style challenges available to keep players entertained.

Please post your answers below, as well as any questions regarding the rules or the application process.

1. What is your name/nickname/handle, age, and contact information (at least an email address)?

2. Please post or link me to the best bio you have found on your character. If your character is AU in any way, please include the ways in which she or she varies from canon.

3. What are your favorite things about playing this character, and about roleplaying in general? What gets you fired up?

4. What parts of roleplaying bore or annoy you (besides filling out character applications)?

5. What kind of plots would you like to run? Any specific ones? Anything geared toward specific PCs/NPCs?

6. How do you imagine your character will interact with the other characters and NPCs?

7. Are there any other characters you might want to bring into the game?

8. OK—instead of a writing sample, post the above answers, and if your character looks like a good fit, we’ll do an introductory thread to make sure, and then--you're off and running!
